Callaloo is just as nutritious as other types of green vegetables. One nutritional benefit that is known in Jamaica is that it has high iron and fibre content. Usually, for persons who suffer from anaemia, and pregnant moms, doctors usually recommend that  Callaloo be included in your diet regularly.

But that is not all, Jamaican Callaloo is high in:

  • Vitamins A, B, C and K
  • Amino Acids
  • Carotene
  • Manganese
  • Calcium
  • Iron
  • Potassium

Jamaican Callaloo Herbal Tea

  • Boil water in pot or kettle. Pour water in a cup, steep 1-2 tsp in water(using a  tea ball or small strainer). Allow to sit in cup for 10-15 minutes. Consume in one sitting. Use herbs over for atleast 2-3 times before discarding. Allow leaves to dry completely out before using again.
